RG Jones first to the gate for the Safety Passport Alliance Scheme

Andrew Williamson is better known at as RG Jones Director and Hire Department Project Manager. However, he has also been RG Jones’ Chief Health and Safety Officer since 2004. With over 15 years experience in engineering and management, Andy holds an impressive array of accreditations and certificates that reflect his extensive knowledge. Andy recognised an increase in the number of events specifying “The Passport Alliance Scheme” – a nationally recognised standard of Health and Safety training and assurance.
“SPA provides a recognised standard which has been custom-made for each industry sector” explains Andrew. “There are so many courses on the market, but I’d been searching for one that had been specifically designed for our particularly complex industry. This course has been developed with specialists to come up with a real industry standard. Our engineers and core freelance crew have now completed the course and we will continue to adopt this scheme. It’s about so much more than just meeting criteria to qualify to do the job; it is essential that all contractors, subcontractors and self employed individuals working to tight deadlines have a clear awareness of the hazards, and how working together can ensure a safe environment for our employees.”
