RG Jones has a long history with The Royal Academy stretching back over several decades. Founded through King George III its prime objective was to promote the arts of design in Britain through education and exhibition.
RG Jones were approached by the in-house team to provide a complete AV solution for the private viewing of the Degas exhibition for the Bank of New York Mellon.
“We provided staging, lighting, sound and video relays throughout the galleries” explains RG’s Engineer Matt Sussex
Recognised as an important artist in his lifetime, Degas is now considered "one of the founders of Impressionism". He especially identified with the subject of the dance, and over half of his works depict a dancer, which explains why English ballerina Darcey Bussell was the guest of honour.
“The whole job went very well” continued Matt “and the client approached us at the end to say that the production had exceeded her expectations. The whole crew were outstanding and we’re very much looking forward to the next one”.
