AV for Historic UK–Ukraine Digital Trade Deal
In early 2023, RG Jones provided full AV and live-streaming services for the signing of a landmark UK–Ukraine digital trade agreement, hosted at the prestigious Mansion House in the heart of London.
The event required seamless coordination between multiple UK government departments and the Ukrainian Government, with simultaneous contributions from high-level ministers in Kyiv, Whitehall, and on-site in London. RG Jones was tasked with building a hybrid infrastructure that connected these parties across countries and time zones—all within the Grade I listed splendour of Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor of London.
“We had to ensure robust livestream links from UK Secretary of State Kemi Badenoch in Whitehall, and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko in Kyiv,” explained Duncan Owen, Head of Events at RG Jones.
“Our solution had to be accessible across both government networks and capable of accommodating viewers on both sides who couldn’t be there in person.”
RG Jones’ team delivered sound, lighting, video, and streaming across multiple iconic rooms within the building:
- Egyptian Hall (main plenary and signing)
- The Long Parlour (Trade Committee Meeting)
- The Dining Room
- The Old Ballroom
Each space had its own set of technical requirements, while also being integrated into the central broadcast feed—live-streamed to audiences across the UK, Ukraine, and beyond.
“It’s always a delight working alongside Kat & the team at Mansion House,” said Owen.
“As the recommended supplier, our long-standing relationship gives clients peace of mind when planning technically sensitive and diplomatically significant events.”
Following the event, Sue Betts, Chief of Staff and Head of Client Relations for Wilton Park (event host), praised the RG Jones team:
It went extremely smoothly and your team were incredibly reactive and professional, dealing with all the demands. Thank you for the support and collaboration in the run-up.
RG Jones is proud to have supported this moment of international cooperation, reinforcing its reputation for technical excellence, diplomacy-ready professionalism, and reliable delivery in heritage venues with strict operational constraints.
