Festivals are one of the hardest jobs in live sound. Most of them are greenfield sites—no power, no rigging, no infrastructure. Everything’s built from scratch, and it has to work first time. Acts are back-to-back all day, and as one’s on stage, the next is already sound-checking behind them. Turnarounds are tight. There’s no room for mistakes. We work closely with touring FOH and monitor engineers to give them exactly what they need. Our job is to keep everything running smooth and sounding spot-on—side of stage, out front, and on the broadcast feed. With festivals often set near residential areas, noise control’s a big part of the job too. We use real-time monitoring and smart system design to turn it up to eleven—without it spilling over the fence. There’s a lot going on, and no time to stop. That’s why we build it right, back it up, and get it done.
