RG Jones provided full technical production for the Autumn Members’ Dinner at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), an annual highlight where members enjoy an evening of fine dining and entertainment with a distinguished guest speaker.

Having worked with the AELTC for over 50 years, RG Jones has developed a deep understanding of the Club’s culture and expectations. That long-standing relationship has created a natural alignment between the two organisations — both built on tradition, professionalism, and the pursuit of greatness.

For this event, the brief was to transform the Courtside Restaurant to reflect the evening’s guest speaker, Professor Brian Cox — scientist, TV presenter, and former pop star. The creative team set out to evoke a “night sky” atmosphere. Using Core ColourPoints, the room was bathed in deep blue tones, while Chauvet E-3s projected star-field gobos across the ceiling and walls. On stage, 2m bubble tubes and DMX-controlled illuminated table centres, programmed through an Avolites Quartz desk, brought a dynamic and immersive sense of movement to the space.

Guests entered through an approach lined with Astera Titan Tubes glowing in the Club’s green and purple colours. In the Terrace Room for the drinks reception, RG Jones supplied audio for the live entertainment and used Axcor 300s to cast a moving celestial pattern across the ceiling, complemented by ColourPoints that added warmth and depth.

From design to delivery, the RG Jones team worked closely with Club staff to create a seamless and visually captivating experience. The transformation was met with enthusiasm from members and venue staff alike — a night that beautifully combined scientific inspiration with creative design.

Professor Brian Cox, with his trademark blend of curiosity, intellect, and wonder, brought his own sense of awe to the evening — a perfect match for an event designed to celebrate the beauty of science, the universe and imagination.
