Why Choose Guildhall?
Guildhall dates back to the 14th century, though it was originally built as a place for the city’s merchants and guilds to meet and carry out their business. It served as the home for the City of London Corporation (the local government) and was also the venue for the Lord Mayor’s Banquet.
Guildhall is a remarkable example of medieval architecture. Over the centuries, it has undergone several expansions and refurbishments, resulting in a combination of medieval, Tudor, and Victorian features. The main hall, often called the Great Hall, is particularly notable for its grand and impressive size.
